The Dot Product is the personal website of Neil Craig, a Web-Developer based in Oxfordshire, UK.

The main idea of this website is for me to record the various useful bits of information I learn so that I don’t forget them and I’m hoping they may also be useful to other people too.

I specialise in what I aim to be elegant, standards compliant, accessible web-development for a wide variety of clients from single-person businesses to large multinationals using:

• XHTML
• CSS
• PHP
• MySQL Database Server
• Javascript including frameworks such as MooTools
• The odd bit of Adobe Flash
• Apache HTTPD Web Server
• The occasional Perl/Shell script where necessary

My preferred Software environment is:

• Apple Mac OSX
• Zend Studio (PHP IDE) – version 5, version 6 and 7 are poor in my opinion
• Navicat MySQL editor
• FireFox web browser
• Thunderbird Email Client

I also do a reasonable amount of Linux SysAdmin work on various Web Servers which for the most part run Debian, which is in my opinion the daddy of all Linux.

In my very limited spare time, I Snowboard, Skateboard and spend time renovating my house, a Victorian Railway workers Cottage.
